ASIAN gold and cash to the value of £20,000 have been stolen from a Chippenham property in what police believe was a targeted attack.

The incident happened on Sunday (December 4), when the front door of a flat on the Redlands was forced open and an untidy search carried out between 2-8.30pm.

Asian gold worth £10,000 and a further £10,000 of cash in sterling, Hong Kong dollars and Malaysian RM were stolen.

Police believe it was a targeted attack and are linking it to Asian gold burglaries across the region.

In July, Asian gold worth £30,000 and foreign currency worth £8,000 were stolen from a property on Matford Hill in Chippenham.
