A WATER treatment plant in Ashton Keynes suffered at the hands of fuel thieves last week who stole more than 4,000 litres of diesel from the site.

Police are appealing for information after thieves swiped the fuel, worth about £2,200, from a tank on the site at some point on Friday (December 2) evening.

A spokesman for Thames Water, who operate on the site, said: "We have reported a theft of diesel fuel from a tank on site after thieves broke a padlock to get in. We reported it to the police when the theft was discovered on Friday and they are now investigating."

Anyone with information should call 101.
