NOT one but two digital awards have been bagged by Marlborough web agency Callia Web.

The company, who design and develop websites for small businesses and bloggers, claimed two gongs at the Cambridgeshire Digital Awards (CDA); a gold website award for Lifestyle and Culture and silver in the website small business category.

The Elcot Lane based business, formed in 2013, was recognised at the awards show for their work on the Cambridge Food Collective website, an online portal with food and drink from local, independent food producers and artisans.

"We were pretty stunned to receive two awards, let alone one," said Callia Web director Jo Waltham.

"The competition was very impressive so we were very surprised and pleased to have come away with this. It was a long old journey to get there, but totally worth it as we all had such a fun evening celebrating our success.

"The judges were very impressed and said they were excited to see initiatives which champion local businesses via fresh thinking and have a community spirit, coupled with a clear and effective website."

As an existing client, Cambridge-based Nazima Pathan approached Callia Web when she was looking to start a new community venture selling locally sourced artisan food produce all under one website.

As a result she went onto create her own website, the Cambridge Food Collective.

"We had lots of positive feedback from our customers about how nice the site was to browse and how easy it was to get information and select products to buy," said Mrs Pathan.
