The Swindon Gilbert and Sullivan Society have joined forces with St Andrew's Church to raise funds for a new church roof by organising a charity concert.

The performance of Gilbert and Sullivan music will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 8 at St Andrew's Church, The Market Place, Chippenham.

Included will be music from various Gilbert and Sullivan shows, such as the ever popular Hot Mikado (pictured).

Refreshments will be provided by the church, with concert tickets priced at £8 and available from the Chippenham’s Tourist Information Office and on the door on the night.

Julia Fryer, Publicity Officer for the Society, said: “As some of our members come from Chippenham, St Andrew's Church seemed a good cause to support this year.

“The concert will be full of varied music and should be a really good show.”

In addition to this concert, Society members are practicing their staged production of Yeoman of the Guard, to take place in April 2017.

Auditions for Yeoman of the Guard will take place on the afternoon of Sunday, October 9, Wroughton Working Mens Club, Swindon.
