DAUNTSEY’S school were also amongst the many secondary schools which celebrated top marks in this year’s GCSE results day.
The staff and pupils of Dauntsey’s were overjoyed at the schools best ever GCSE results with 48.5 per cent awarded an A* grade.
Mark Lascelles, the Head of Dauntsey’s, said: “Rini Banerjee and Dulcie Spindler were out in front with 11 A* grades, closely followed by Sam Abel, Corinna Clark, Charlie Hinton, Grace James-Park, Eliot Johnson, Jeffrey Lam, Emily Tucker and Nick Welch, with ten top grades. Congratulations to Charlotte Hamilton-White and Anna Gilbert who also achieved A* grades in all nine of their subjects. In addition, 34 of the 103 candidates achieved all A* or A grades and 70 pupils achieved seven or more A* or A grades.”
The last school’s record from last year was broken with a remarkable 78.1 per cent of all pupils receiving a A* or A grade in their GCSEs.
Mr Lascelles, expressed his delight with such excellent grades and was particularly pleased that the results recognised the top performers as well as a good number of pupils who exceeded their own expectations. The results across the year group were a just reward for the strong work ethic of the pupils and the dedication of the staff.
