Acting on intelligence Immigration Enforcement officers visited the restaurant in London Road at 5.30pm on June 15 and questioned staff members on their rights to live and work in the UK. Wiltshire Police were notified about the incident but had no involvement with the arrests.

The officers arrested two men for overstaying their student visas- a 27-year-old and a 30-year old were both taken to Gabelcross in Swindon and are being detained pending their removal from the UK.

The restaurant was served a notice warning that a penalty of up to £20,000 per illegal worker could be imposed and that they will be liable to pay unless they can demonstrate that pre-employment checks were carried out.
