WILTSHIRE'S best and worst ranked surgeries have been named in a new patient satisfaction survey.

The GP Patient Survey (GPPS) is an England-wide survey that provides data on patients’ experiences of their GP practices on a range of topics.

The data is based on the January 2016 GPPS publication, which combined two waves of fieldwork; from January to March 2015 and July to September 2015.

In Wiltshire, 13,622 questionnaires were distributed and 6,986 were returned.

The survey rated the Hindon Surgery in Salisbury as the top surgery in the county with a 100 per cent happiness rating, while Tinkers Lane Surgery in Royal Wootton Bassett came bottom of the table with a rating of just 61 per cent.

The Jubilee Field Surgery in Chippenham received a near-perfect score of 99 per cent, Malmesbury Medical Partnership received 96 per cent, The Bradford-on-Avon and Melksham Health Partnership received 91 per cent and Marlborough Surgery received an impressive 89 per cent, all above the national average of 85.

The Mere Surgery was also rated highly with an overall score of 96 per cent.

Conversely, The White Horse Health Centre in Westbury was rated 80 per cent, Trowbridge’s Widbrook Medical Practice received a low score of 72 per cent and The Hathaway Surgery in Chippenham was rated 70 per cent, all below the national average.

In terms of getting through to the surgery on the phone, Widbrook Medical Practice again received a very low rating of 29 per cent, way below the national average of 70 per cent, while The Old School House Surgery in Great Bedwyn impressed with a score of 91 per cent. Jubilee Field in Chippenham once again received 99 per cent in this category.

The Lovemead Group Practice in Trowbridge, White Horse Health Centre in Westbury and Marlborough Surgery were also above the national average in this category.

When it came to waiting times, Malmesbury Medical Partnership impressed with a rating of 77 per cent, above the national average of 58, while Widbrook Medical Practice was given the lowest score in Wiltshire with 21 per cent. Lovemead Group Practice and Marlborough Surgery also fell below the national average.
