AFTER reading the article last week from Mike Stone regarding the use of the George and Dragon pub in Erlestoke by the councillors and residents. Some 10 years ago the village and previous owners of the George & Dragon realised that pub drinking on its own was not the way forward and that good food and accommodation together with the bar was the answer to a village facility and readily built this up accordingly. It seems strange that in the last accounts available the wet sales was very good for such a small village, with food sales being some 38 per cent of wet sales and with almost no accommodation sales., STAN JONIK Erlestoke
