I WAS intrigued to read in Ms Perry’s column on January 28 that constituents are now divided into three categories. Or maybe only two: ‘the Good’ and ‘the Bad and the Ugly’.

I fear that I fall into the second category which she says is a “very small but persistent group”. Has she considered that the reason why some people are so persistent is that they care passionately about certain issues which they would like their MP to treat seriously rather than reply with the ‘party line’. This practice can lead to frustration which can eventually cause people to be unpleasant, abusive or just wanting to “have a go”, as Ms Perry puts it.

I fear that any e-mails or letters I send to Ms Perry will in future be consigned to the trash or the waste paper bin. I hope that she will rethink her approach as she is surely meant to offer help and advice to all her constituents, not just those who agree with her.
