WITH Chippenham’s game at Old Bristolians off, Chippenham A maintained their push for promotion from East Central One with a 9-0 win over West Wilts B.
Simon Walker scored a hat-trick in the opening seven minutes, before Nigel Stonham and Charlie Bizley made it 5-0 at half time.
Bizley completed his hat-trick and added a fourth before Stonham notched another in the second half.
At the other end of the table, Chippenham B failed to close the gap on mid-table City of Bath B, losing 6-3.
The home side took an early lead before James Grantham levelled for Chippenham. Defensive errors saw the home side make it 3-1 at half time but Brad Foard struck from a penalty corner.
Bath’s fourth goal saw Andrew Holthom struck in the head, which reduced Chippenham to just 10 players but Archie Wright finished well to make it 4-3.
Looking for the equaliser, Chippenham were caught twice on the break.
Corsham were defeated 9-0 by Marlborough.
In East Central Two against West Wilts D, Chippenham C took the lead through Neil Stewart after 20 minutes.
In the second half Stewart added three more goals to complete a 4-0 triumph.
CORSHAM Ladies second string lost out 4-2 to their West Wilts counterparts in West Clubs League Wessex Division Two.
Morgan Golledge netted for Corsham in the first half as they turned around 3-1 down.
Both sides added another in the second half, Sophie Mumford on target for Corsham.
In Wessex Division Three, Corsham’s third team were beaten 3-1 by Wells City Acorns, Morgan Fletcher on target for Corsham.
