A COMMUNITY choir in a village near Devizes is looking for new members who enjoy singing for fun.
The Lavington Community Choir meets on Thursdays in Market Lavington Community Hall and new members do not face daunting auditions to gain a place.
Committee member Sue Ivey said: "Around 50 of us meet from 8.15pm to 9.45pm and we have fun singing. There are no auditions nor do you need to be able to read music.
"At the moment we are singing, Sitting on the Dock of the Bay, I wish I knew how it would feel to be free and Walking on Sunshine and we shall soon tackle Vivaldi’s Gloria.
"We want new people to come and join us and we are sure they won’t be disappointed."
The group was originally the idea of Lesley Hatcher who helped set it up in 2008 with Jo Richards as musical director. She stepped down in 2015 and now Paul Boyagis from White Horse Opera is n charge.
