Lacock Boxing Day Hunt.
The traditional Boxing Day hunt at Lacock attracted over two thousand spectators as the Avon Vale Hunt assembled in the High Street
Hunt Master Stuart Radbourne took a toast in sherry outside the famous Red Lion public house.
Mr Radbourne, 30, who took over from Wiltshire Councillor Jonathon Seed two years ago led the Hunt that always attracts huge crowds to the National Trust Village .
He said;” We had a brilliant day, and it was lovely to see so many people out. “
With the temperatures reaching 15 degrees it was one of the warmest Boxing Days on record with many spectators enjoying the event without having to wear winter clothing.
The Hunt set off at 11.30 with 110 riders taking part including MP James Gray .
Joint hunt master Mike Smith is a real regular at the Lacock Hunt. Having taken part on the Boxing day hunt over five decades. He said;” I am 75 years old and regularly ride and this year was my 57th Lacock Hunt.
“ We are so well supported its amazing where all the spectators come from, and we had many out watching as we rode around fields near Melksham Corsham and Gastard
.Luckily it was dry enough to ride and we stayed out till 3.30 in the afternoon.”
Wiltshire Council traffic wardens were also out in force at Lacock with four wardens ticketing any motorists who had parked on yellow lines
