MARTIN Lloyd wants improvement across the board from his Swindon College Old Boys side as they face Aylesbury on Saturday.

College lost their 10th game of the season last weekend against Wallingford and conceded more than 50 points on their way to doing so.

Head of rugby Lloyd struggled to find positives from their display last week, when even their ability to cross the try-line, something the Mark Lea-coached College have taken solace in this season, deserted them.

Back at Nationwide Pavilion for the visit of the third-placed Buckinghamshire side, College will hope to be stronger or risk another potentially tough afternoon.

Aylesbury have the meanest defence in Southern Counties North, but Lloyd remains firm in his belief that his side can make a stir.

“We won’t go out there on Saturday with a poor attitude,” said Lloyd.

“We know must do better. Nobody has an easy game at our place and we always think we can win.

“Aylesbury are a good outfit. We know we won’t play like how we played against Wallingford again.

“I don’t there will be a lasting effect on the team’s morale. We always have a debrief post-game, where we talk it out and we understand what needs to be done after last week.”

Lloyd could not put his finger on just one issue from last week to improve upon, but hopes that his side will improve in all areas, both on and off the pitch, for this weekend’s clash.

“I think we can’t look at one thing,” added the College chief.

“We have to look at things and improve across the board.

“The stuff we’ve got been working on at breakdown wasn’t there last week, but it’s more than that.

“This week, we’ve asked for a little bit more from everybody.

“That’s an extra bit in training, their personal responsibilities with their fitness, and to stay positive in the mental aspect.”
