TWO men who are accused of stealing three cars from a garage in the dead of night are to face trial by judge and jury.

Richard Andrew, 28, and Ross Pinnock, 29, are said to have been involved in a raid on Reeders in Upavon in the early hours of Wednesday October 28.

But both pleaded not guilty to burglary, theft and conspiracy to steal when they appeared by video link at Swindon Crown Court.

It is alleged they broke into the garage on High Street, Upavon, and took four sets of car keys before stealing a VW Golf, Kia Sportage and Fiat Punto.

And they were said to have conspired to steal motor vehicles in the month leading up to the alleged raid.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Monday March 21 and remanded Andrew, of Alcock Crescent Warminster, and Pinnock, of Bristol, in custody.

Pinnock pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and dangerous driving following a chase with police.

He admitted being behind the wheel of the Golf when it was driven from Westbury to Warminster, ending with a smash outside a school.

He admitted driving dangerously on Bratton Road, the A350, Warminster Road, Westbury Road, The Portway, B4341, George Street, Silver Street and Church Street.

The judge will sentence him for those matters following the trial on the burglary and theft allegations next year.
