CAR parking in Corsham will be free from December 7-12 after sponsorship by the Martingate Centre.
The six days are in addition to the free parking funded by Corsham Town Council in support of Small Business Saturday on December 5.
The Martingate Centre owners are concerned that the loss of Corsham's one-hour free parking is reducing footfall in the town.
Sharon Thomas, head of community services, said: “The town council is delighted that Corsham will have free parking in the lead-up to Christmas. We are grateful to Wiltshire Council for approving this local initiative.
"We hope that free parking will encourage Corsham’s residents to shop local, and be a real incentive to visitors to come and discover all our town has to offer. Corsham at Christmas is really special.”
