Chippenham is set for its biggest ever programme of events ahead of the Christmas Lights Switch on this weekend.

Actor Warwick Davis and comedian Andy Ford, who are both starring in panto Snow White at the Bristol Hippodrome, will be on stage to switch on the Christmas lights at 7pm on the town bridge.

So here's everything you need to know on the entire family-friendly programme of entertainment which will feature throughout the town this weekend:

All weekend events:

Roller rink in the Neeld Community and Arts Centre, opens Friday (Nov27)

All aboard the Strakers Land Train around Chippenham, £2 adult, £1 child.

Christmas Market with a variety of food, drink and artisan products

Create your own Christmas decorations in the Museum and Heritage Centre run by The Nature of It

Saturday November 28:

Community and charity stalls in the town hall throughout the day

4pm - Princesses, Belle, Aerial and Rapunzel will be in town
4pm - Bring Fairy Tale’s to life with a storytelling session in Chippenham library
4pm - Join local churches performing some Christmas carols outside the Town Hall

5pm - The Lights Switch On event will be compared by Heart FM, along with Heart Angels
5pm - Light Switch On event officially opened by Chippenham Town Mayor, David Powell

5.05pm - Stagecoach Chippenham & Melksham performance, including their great Disney routine

5.30pm - Fairy Tale, princess or prince competition judged by Santa himself (Chance to win family tickets to pantomime, Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs at the Bristol Hippodrome)

5.45pm - Live music

6.15pm - Dance Academy performing some of their favourite Christmas routines

7pm - The official light switch on, with a very lucky competition winner, Warwick Davis and Andy Ford

7.15pm - Reloaded perform some classic songs

9pm til late - 18+ Roller Disco with the ShowHawk Duo performing (Free entry to E11evns with ticket to the roller disco)

Sunday November 29:

5.30pm - Willow lantern parade from Monkton Park Council Offices

6.15pm - Carol singing at the Market Place with traditional carols and music from the town band and local churches
