A CANNABIS factory has been found by Wiltshire Police in the bedroom of a home in Dakota Drive in Calne.

Eleven cannabis plants of varying sizes and a number of hydroponic items were seized by officers with the remaining items of equipment dismantled to prevent further use.

A 17-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivation of cannabis and posession of the drug while a 41-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of permitting the cultivation of cannabis.

Both were taken to Melksham Police Station.

Calne Police were acting on information from the Sovereign Housing Association that a strong smell of cannabis was emitting from one of their properties.

PCSO Shelley Gray arranged a joint housing and police visit to find out what was going on.

A police spokesman said: "On Monday 16th November, PCSO Shelley Gray attended the property in Dakota Drive in Calne with a member of the Sovereign Housing Association and discovered a small cannabis factory in one of the bedrooms."
