CUSTOMERS can expect an extra warm reception in Calne over the coming months after staff from the town picked up their customer service qualifications.

Staff and volunteers from a number of Calne organisations, including Sampaguita Cafe and Fay's Bistro have received their customer service qualification in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism after a free day’s training session.

Local tour company Stone Seeker and volunteers from the Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum also attended the session, which was organised by the Calne Our Place project.

Claire Selman, publicity and promotions officer at Calne Town Council, said: “Calne Our Place is a project designed to promote Calne and encourage tourism to the area. There are a great variety of businesses welcoming visitors to the town by delivering excellent customer service, which Calne Our Place wants to recognise and encourage.”

Calne Our Place hopes to create more reasons for people to visit and explore Calne and the surrounding area by rethinking the way it is presented locally and nationally.
