POLICE are trying to trace three people whose car was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle which damaged the bridge over the River Avon in Lacock shortly after 8am this morning.
The road by The Wharf, at the bottom of Bowden Hill, was blocked after the collision, with the road closed for about 45 minutes. The vehicles involved were a Mazda 6 and a silver BMW. The man driving the Mazda, who is in his 40s, was treated at the scene by paramedics but was not seriously hurt.
The occupants of the BMW, believed to be three men and one woman, did not stay at the scene and police are now trying to find them.
Anyone who saw the collision and can help the police with their investigation should call 101.
