A MAN had a nasty shock after a visit to his daughter in Devizes.
Tony Duffin parked his Mercedes C-class saloon outside 43 Nursteed Road, Devizes, on Wednesday (Oct 7) and as he left the property at 6.55pm he heard a loud crash.
He then found his car had been hit by another vehicle, and had been pushed down the road by the impact.
Mr Duffin, of Shepton Mallet, said: “A witness told me that she had heard a bang, and had rushed outside to see a car, thought to be a Mondeo type, driving away from the scene. She tried to take the registration but was too late.
“Another witness said that the car that drove off had damage to the front. A further witness, who was driving along Nursteed Road at the time, said they had seen a car collide with mine.. My car was moved approximately nine metres.”
Although this wasn’t an ideal end to the evening for Mr Duffin, he has been left surprised by the kindness of strangers.
“Everyone I have dealt with has been super. I am shocked at my lack of faith in people. Everyone wanted to help, it really has restored my faith in humanity.” He said.
If anyone has any information about the incident then they are asked to call the police on 01380 735735 quoting the incident number 54150090918.
