BATMAN and Robin as you have never before seen them will arrive in Devizes town centre on Saturday (10) as the dynamic duo raise money in memory of a little boy.

Scores of people are expected to turn out to welcome the pair riding a tandem and escorted by a cavalcade of scooters to the Dolphin pub at about 5pm.

Painter and decorator Graham Enderby, 53, better known as Stretch, and firefighter Paul Keenan, 48, known as PK, will cycle from Ringwood in Hampshire back to Devizes in memory of Jacob Andrews who died aged three.

They will stop at Stert on the edge of town to change into their costumes and swap from road bikes to the tandem. For the final mile of the journey members of the Devizes Sweet Sensations Scooter Club will join them.

Taxi driver Dave Malloy and helpers will follow the cyclists for the entire journey collecting cash as they go.

Money raised will go to Devizes Opportunity Centre which had helped to support the family and care for Jacob since he was a baby.

His parents Sarah and Mark from The Spinney, West Lavington, will be among those forming a welcome party at the pub.

Pub landlord Billy Costello, who organised the cycle ride, hopes to raise thousands of pounds from sponsorship and donations.

Many other pubs and clubs in town have pledged to support the cause. Mr Costello said: "The support has been fantastic."

Anyone who wants to sponsor the ride should ring the pub on (01380) 698362.
