PREPARATIONS for this year's Foxham Horse Show are well under way with a full programme activities being lined up.

Last year more than 300 horses entered the show and organisers are hoping for a similar turnout again on September 19.

As well as the usual horse show, this year's dog show will see the newly introduced Foxham's Got Talent in addition to the showing ring with ten events and, back by popular demand, dog agility.

And encouraged by the success of the flower and produce events in Bremhill and Christian Malford, the show is also adding a flower and vegetable, photography and arts and crafts competition.

The more traditional horse competition element of the show will include nine rings of equestrian classes, show jumping, dressage, showing, gymkhana, combined training and carriage driving.

A spokesman for the show said: "We very much look forward to a great day at the show. It would not be possible without the huge support of all of our volunteers, sponsors and helpers."

A host of trade stands at the show will stock everything from dog accessories to jewellery, plants and art will be at the show adjacent to the refreshments area.

All proceeds of the event will be distributed to charities including St John's Church, the Foxham Reading Room, Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Dorothy House Hospice, the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, The Dogs Trust, Greatwood, a charity caring for retired race horses and international development charity Practical Action.
