CORSHAM Town assistant manager Ant Brown is expecting Westbury United to carry a sting in the tail when the two teams renew hostilities in the FA Vase this weekend.

On Tuesday night, Corsham returned to the top of the table with a 3-1 victory over their county rivals but the two sides are set to reunite instantly at the Southbank on Saturday with a place in the second qualifying round of the Vase on the line.

Manager Jeff Roberts returns from holiday to take charge of his team for this weekend’s Vase tie and assistant Brown is expecting Westbury to have revenge on their minds.

“We won’t be taking Westbury lightly at all,” said Brown.

“It’s a huge game for us because we want to progress in the FA Vase but we know that it’s going to bring the best out of Westbury.

“They’d won two games in a row going in to Tuesday and we were two goals up and looked comfortable but they got a goal out of nowhere and had a go for a bit. But we managed to get a third and that was good because we were after a reaction after losing on Saturday.”

On Tuesday, Westbury netted through Sam Clift to reduce the deficit following Levi Cox's penalty and Ben Thomson's strike but Aaron Ledgister fired in a free-kick to make it 3-1.

Ledigster also scored for 10-man Corsham, who had already seen Matt Jenkins sent off for raising his hands to an opponent, at Ashton & Backwell United on Saturday but Roberts' men lost 2-1, with late match-winner Conor Biggins shown a second yellow card for dissent.
