AUSSIE Paddler Steve Posselt who is kayaking across England as part of a world trip was in Devizes last week as he tries to raise awareness of climate change.
Mr Posselt canoed through Devizes on the Kennet and Avon Canal as he headed towards the Thames and on to the English Channel and Paris.
His Connecting Climate Chaos trip, which started from Canberra, Australia in January is to demonstrate the relationship between Australian bush fires, super hurricanes in the USA, freezing temperatures in Eastern USA, UK flooding last year and the French drought.
Mr Poselt is a civil engineer specialising in water and is an Al Gore trained climate presenter. In 2006 he almost died in the Australian desert when he crashed his motorcycle and has vowed to make every day count since.
He was accompanied on the UK leg of his journey by Julianne Sandison, an environmental educator with says his goal is to turn the world back from the brink of climate disaster.
