VISITORS to an RSPCA dog show to be held in Devizes on September 13 can find out some fascinating facts about their pooches.

For example did you know that dogs wag their tail to the right side of their body when feeling happy, positive or confident? Or that a wag to the left can indicate stress?

The RSPCA Wiltshire Mid branch's Animal Welfare Day will be the chance for people to find out about facts like these, to try thier hand at training tips and to watch a host of dogs take part in the fun dog show.

Branch Chairman, Deborah Gogarty said: "Join us on The Green, Devizes from11:00am. Entry is completely free.

"There will be host of experts on hand to offer free advice and tips on keeping your poochy pals happy and healthy. There is free dog microchipping on site and a limited number of cat neutering vouchers will be available - so get there early.

"Pawsitive Pooches will be providing have-a-go training tips throughout the day and the fun dog show is always a hit, with classes such as best sausage catcher designed to give every dog, whatever breed or age, a chance to shine.

"Last year's event was a great success and we want to make this one even better. We would really like lots of people to come along, enjoy the activities and meet many other dog owners."

The first dog class starts at 1:00pm. For more details contact Rangebourne Pets on (01380) 725294 or go to www.rspca.org.uk/local/wiltshire-mid-branch/ .
