TEENAGER Wilbur Gloster is facing the summer holidays without his scooter after it was stolen just four days after his mum bought it as a present.

Wilbur, 13, of Victoria Road, Devizes, left the scooter worth £300 in a play area at a park at the back of Le Merchant Barracks for about 15 minutes.

When he returned he was devastated to find it had gone.

His mother Alice Isaacsen has now launched a poster appeal and is offering a reward for information leading to its return.

She said: "He is a very keen scooter rider. His previous one had been damaged and he hadn't been able to go to the Devizes skate park for a while.

"Eventually I gave into pressure and decided to get him one so he could use it with friends during the summer holiday.

"I couldn't believe it when he rang me to say it had been taken."

The silver Fasen-Smith scooter was taken between 7.30pm and 7.45pm last Monday (20). Ms Isaacsen contacted Devizes police and they have followed up some leads but without success.

She said: "Without evidence it is difficult for them to do anything so I am hoping witnesses might come forward that will make it possible for us to find out who is responsible and to get the scooter back."

Anyone with information should ring Wiltshire police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111where details can be left anonymously.
