TRADERS in Sidmouth Street, Devizes, hope people will flock to their corner of the town on Saturday as they stage a fun day to co-incide with the revamp of Albion Place.
The Sidmouth Street Festival has been organised by a new traders organisation that hope the £40,000 facelift of the small square will help attract more customers to the area.
Fun will start from 10am when the street closes to traffic and will include a display of vintage cars, a performance by Devizes Town Band and Devizes School band.
The official opening will take place at 12.30pm and this will be followed by soprano Barbara Gompels singing an aria from La Boheme.
Next up will be a unicycle display and then Devizes Musical Theatre will entertain the crowds. Music will continue throughout the afternoon and evening until 7.30pm.
Town councillor and Sidmouth Street shopkeeper John Parker said: "Sidmouth Street has a lot of small independent traders and we want everyone to come down and join in the fun."
