Police today issued a security warning following a series of high value burglaries in the Trowbridge area over the past two weeks.

Thousands of pounds worth of equipment has been stolen in the raids which target isolated properties in villages near the county town.

The burglars usually strike during the night. Items taken include farming equipment, building supplies and lawnmowers.

Police are urging residents living in rural areas to make sure their security measures are sufficient.
