SOME of Wiltshire's most talented young musicians will compete in the final of a competition in Devizes on May 16.
The seven youngsters will contest the second Young Musician Of Wiltshire competition in the town hall from 7pm.
The event has been organised by Devizes Eisteddfod and is the culmination of a search for the most promising musician in the county.
Each will perform for up to 12 minutes in front of judges Christopher Moore, Sharon Gould and Richard Hickman.
Taking part are violinists Anahita Falaki from Swindon, Katherine Stonham and Rachel Stonham from Trowbridge, singer Kaey Rylands from Westbury, bassoonist Emma Wiliams from Chippenham and pianists Vincent Ling from Warminster and Hannah Munday from Exeter, who qualifies as she has music lessons in the county.
The winner will receive a trophy, donated by West Wiltshire Music and a cheque for £100. second and third placed performers receive £50 and £25 respectively. The competition is sponsored by Devizes solicitors Awdry, Bailey and Douglas.
Before the results, violinist Joel Munday, the winner of the Young Musician Of Wiltshire competition in 2013 , will perform.
Admission to the competition final is by programme which costs £5. Students are free.
