AS part of national flower arranging day Devizes Floral Arts Club will be taking part in the Lonely Bouquet campaign tomorrow, where bunches will be left around the town for people to enjoy.

Run by The National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies (NAFAS) more than 60,000 bouquets are set to be distributed on the day.

The Devizes club will be leaving ten bouquets in variously locations around town, made mainly by committee members and other volunteers.

Committee member Chris Nichols said: “It is a nice thing to do and hopefully will raise awareness and attract more people to join the club.”

The Lonely Bouquet campaign involves leaving a bouquet in a public place to be picked up by an unsuspecting passerby.

Nationally flowers will be placed everywhere, from park benches and shop doorsteps, to well-known landmarks and surprise locations.

The NAFAS took part for the first time last year and distributed thousands of bouquets across the UK.

The bouquet’s new owners are encouraged to post a message back to NAFAS, to let them know it found a good home.
