DEVIZES Town Band took an audience on a tour of 100 years of cinematic history when they performed a concert to raise money for the charities supported by Mayor Sarah Bridewell.

More than 160 people were in the Corn Exchange to watch the band under the baton of musical director Sharon Lindo perform its first recital of the 2015 season.

Coun Bridewell was in the audience to listed to two hours of music from the silver screen in the band's Movies In Concert event.

The band played more than 30 different movie tunes ranking from James Bond through to Star Trek and Star Wars and on to Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory.

Teenage singer Sarah Carroll joined the band to lead the audience in two medleys from the musicals Mamma Mia and The Sound of Music.

Ms Lindo said: "The band played with so much passion and a performing finesse that reflects their hard work and commitment over the last two years. We have come a long way in a very short space of time and I remain incredibly proud and privileged to be associated with them.

"Sarah has a great future ahead of her musically and I look forward to including her in some of the bands’ future concerts."
