SWINDON-based firm Lawson Group beat off strong competition to win the Environmental award at his year’s Wiltshire Business Awards.
The company, which was initially established as Lawson Demolition in 1991 and has a national client base, works throughout the UK to provide demolition and asbestos removal solutions.
Among the services Lawson Group provides are asbestos removal, dismantling and soft stripping, demolition, crushing and screening, remediation, waste management and environmental services.
The judges for the award, which was sponsored by Newsquest Wiltshire, said: "With the NFDC President at its head, the Lawson Group lead and educate demolition companies on business recycling and waste.
"They pride themselves on impressive industry recognised accreditation and A grade audit results from the NFDC and ARCA.
"Providing strategic methodologies, removing asbestos safely and protecting the environment they work in, is at the heart of the Lawson Group's ethos, which has been implemented throughout the company, helping them to continue to develop their client base and become an industry leader."
The runners up for the award included the winner of the award for the last two years, Corsham-based printing company Park Lane Press, and Swindon engineering firm Method Consulting LLP.
The 2014 Wiltshire Business Awards, which took place at Center Parcs Longleat, featured six other categories, including Business Person of the Year, Apprenticeship Employer, Customer and Staff Care, Medium Sized Enterprise, Services to the Community, and Small Business of the Year.
Winners in each category gained automatic entry into the night’s most prestigious award – the Overall Excellence Award – which is being sponsored by Thrings, a long-time partner of the event.
