Day two of this year's Devizes to Westminster 125-mile canoe challenge has got off to a busy start this morning with competitors in the non-stop race hitting the water from 7am.
More than 160 senior teams will be setting off over the course of today from The Wharf in Devizes for the iconic race described as canoeist's Everest. Strictly Come Dancing contestant and adventurer Steve Backshall is expected to set off with team mate George Barnicoat at approximately 11am.
Lizzie Broughton, who won silver in the ICF Canoe World Championships in 2014, is due to set off with top kayaker Keith Moule at approximately 3pm.
The duo are looking to beat the course record which currently stands at 15 hours and 34 minutes.
Other teams taking part today also include members of the Metropolitan Police, Devizes Canoe Club, the Army Air Corps and the RAF Canoe Association.
