CAROL SMILLIE is positively blooming as she backs a cancer charity campaign.

The 45-year-old TV presenter was lending her support to the Marie Curie Cancer Care's Great Daffodil Appeal.

The annual appeal is raising funds to provide free nursing care for people with terminal cancer.

Last year, the Daffodil Appeal paid for more than 100,000 hours of nursing care for sufferers.

Every £100 raised pays for five hours of vital home care from one of the charity's nurses.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the appeal.

In Glasgow, the Marie Curie hospice at Hunters Hill, Stobhill, has been caring for sufferers and their families for 31 years.

One of 10 Marie Curie hospices around the UK, it has 35 beds, one day bed, outpatients, a specialist nurse clinic, complementary therapy service and home care.

All care provided at the hospice is free of charge to patients and their families.
