CHIPPENHAM Motor Company has bought the Chippenham Volvo dealership MRG, boosting its group turnover by £5m to £35m.
The deal sees Subaru, Isuzu and Volvo aftersales join Citroen, Ford, Kia, Peugeot and Seat in Chippenham Motor Company’s portfolio.
They said all 15 staff at MRG were being kept on, and MRG, which has been going since 1992, will retain its name.
The acquisition means Chippenham Motor Company, founded in 1996, now employs 85 people and has increased its presence in the town to three sites - Bumpers Farm, London Road and now Methuen Park.
It also used to have a site in Lyneham and has just invested £50,000 in a refurbishment of its London Road Ford dealership.
Adam Bailey, managing director of the Chippenham Motor Company Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome MRG into the Chippenham Motor Company family.
“I believe there is a great fit between our award winning businesses, as we have both enjoyed an exciting period of growth, built upon delivering great customer service.
“With three brands and one commitment to excellent customer service, MRG’s appeal in the eyes of buyers complements the strong values and focus on customer service that are consistent with the Chippenham Motor Company name.”
