A WOMAN was flown to hospital by the Wiltshire Air Ambulance after a two-car crash which shut the A420 at the Biddestone crossroads for several hours.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Police, South West Ambulance Service and Wiltshire Fire Service were all at the scene.
The collision happened at 4.12pm between Allington and Giddeahall.
Police advised motorists to avoid the road while the woman was freed from her car.
She was then flown to Southmead Hospital, Bristol, by Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
Firefighter Ade Hurren tweeted that the road was likely to remain shut until at least 7pm.
Traffic queued traffic in both directions between the B4039 junction and the Yatton Road junction and a diversion was in place.
