FOUR friends calling themselves the Sexy Striders will be walking the walk as they take part in this year's Moonwalk in London.

The Devizes group made up of Julie Bramwell, Tina Hale, Angela Ellis and Sandra Forster are practising hard for the 26.2 mile hike across the capital to raise money to beat breast cancer.

Mrs Bramwell, 49, of Queens Road said: "Tin and I did the walk last year and it was fantastic. There was so much support all through the night.

"We have now been joined by Angela and Sandra and we are getting together to train on a regular basis,"

On Saturday the four women walked along the canal from Devizes to Bradford on Avon and will gradually be upping the distance over the next few weeks.

The walk which has the slogan Walk The Walk For Breast Cancer will start at Clapham Common at midnight on May 16 and Mrs Bramwell hopes her group will finish about seven hours later.

The mums, who have designed Sexy Strider t-shirts for the occasion, have all been close friends for a number of years.

Mrs Hale a childminder of Queens Road celebrates her 53rd birthday on May 17 so the group plan to celebrate as they walk.

Mrs Bramwell said the Sexy Striders was first formed as a walking group in 2011. She said: "We are group of sexy ladies from Devizes and since we formed we have covered many miles come rain or shine putting the world to rights with our continuous chatter, which is therapy in itself.

"This year a small group of Sexy Striders are joining the many thousands of people in London the Moon walk to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. We've all been affected in some way by cancer, and we would be appreciative of any money people wish to donate."
