FORMER Swindon Town youth player Chris Zebroski has been released on bail after appearing in court today charged with assault and attempted robbery in a drunken brawl in Victoria Road, Swindon, on February 8.
The Swindon-born striker, now living in Corn Gastons, Malmesbury, was remanded in custody and brought before magistrates today.
Zebroski, 28, had already been due to appear at Swindon Crown Court later this month for sentencing following a road rage incident
He is now under bail conditions preventing him from entering Swindon until his next hearing on April 17.
An alcoholic, Zebroski is also under conditions not to enter any licenced premises in order to prevent further offending.
Zebroski, who currently plays for Sky Bet League 2 outfit Newport County, was charged with attempted robbery and assault with intent to rob yesterday.
He was released by Town as a schoolboy before ultimately earning a trial with Plymouth Argyle in the summer of 2004.
