Lavington School’s recent drama performance has been hailed a success after both shows were a sellout.
The school’s production of the moving and poignant story Private Peaceful took place on February 11 and 12 in front of a packed audience.
The 30-strong cast had been rehearsing since September, with students from all years taking part.
Director and head of drama Sarah Thompson said: “The performances went really well. It is a challenging play and the students definitely did it justice.
“Their hard work paid off and the audiences were treated to a professional production, from the acting to the technical and design elements.”
Private Peaceful is based on the 2003 novel by Michael Morpurgo. It tells the story of soldier Thomas ‘Tommo’ Peaceful who is looking back on his life, from the trenches of the First World War to both his brother Charlie’s and his own love for the same woman, Molly.
The characters of Tommo, Charlie and Molly were played by Year 10 students Joe McMillan, Harry Peace and Rosie Cook.
