Recently I tried to donate a bag of items to the Oxfam shop in Corsham.
I was met with despairing looks and cries of: “we’re not taking any more donations, we’re overrun with stuff”. I was flabbergasted.
Here’s an idea local charity shops might want to consider: stop selling your items at vastly inflated prices.
I have seen Primark items priced at double, even triple the price it would have been sold for originally!
If you are overrun with items, sell everything off cheap and then people might actually buy goods.
And I wouldn’t have to walk past bags and bags of items that get left outside the shops for the rag-man.
