Ballet dancers in Devizes have made the grade this week with an excellent set of results.

Youngsters from Centre Stage Academy of Dance took their Royal Academy of Dance Ballet examinations in Stonar School, Atworth, on December 13 and 14.

The 59 students, aged from five to 17, took exams from pre-primary to Grade 5 and got a bumper set of marks with 15 distinctions, 35 merits and nine pre-primary class awards.

Academy principal Charlotte Boulton said: “I’m extremely proud.

“They have worked really hard to perfect their technique and they were so excited about their exams.

“It is very rewarding to see how the children progress through the grades and gain so much confidence from the experience.”

Set up in 2006, the academy runs classes in Sheep Street Baptist Church, Devizes Leisure Centre and at Stonar School.

The students are now looking forward to preparing for Devizes Carnival and the academy’s ten-year anniversary production.
