FUNDRAISERS have been turning out their wardrobes to find their most garish and uncool sweaters to support Christmas Jumper Day.

Malmesbury School staff left their sense of style behind to don an array of pullovers for good causes.

Many dressed up in their sweaters for the annual staff Christmas lunch, with those wearing a seasonal jumper donating £1 to their house charity.

Malmesbury School spokeswoman Emma Guthrie said: “They really got into the festive spirit by wearing these jumpers and raised £120 in the process.”

All staff at John Williams Heating, Chippenham, joined in the jumper fun and made donations to the Save The Children charity in return for wearing festive clothing to work at their base in Bumpers Farm.

They raised £110 in an hour, enough to pay for enough potentially life-saving antibiotics to treat 165 babies with infections.

Debbie Williams, a co-founder of the company, said: “It was a really good thing to do, because it brings us all together, it’s fun and raises money for a great cause.”
