DEVIZES hairdresser Jane Hargreaves and daughter Sacha are running up a massive phone bill trying to keep Stereo Kicks in the X Factor.

For Miss Hargreaves, 41, and her 12-year-old daughter are the aunt and cousin of Reece Bibby, one of the eight members of the boy band.

Sacha, a pupil at Devizes School, and Miss Hargreaves a hairdressing lecturer at Wiltshire College, are doing everything they can to keep Reece, 16, in the competition.

Miss Hargreaves, who used to work at the First Class salon in Devizes, said: “We just put the phone on redial. I have no idea really how many times we have voted.”

On Saturday Miss Hargreaves of Green Lane, Devizes, travelled to Wembley to watch the first of the weekend’s live shows.

She said: “It was a fantastic evening. I got to speak to Reece afterwards and it was lovely because his mum Lyndsey, who is my sister, and Reece’s eight-year-old sister were there as well. He was so pleased to see us all.”

After she watched the results show with Sacha. She said: “We got very excited. It is fantastic that he is now in the quarter finals and has a place on the live tour.”

Stereo Kicks have grown in popularity after the individual hopefuls were brought back just 24 hours after the Boot Camp and formed into a band by Simon Cowell.

Miss Hargreaves is encouraging students and staff at Wiltshire College, people in Devizes and Gazette readers, to get behind her nephew, aka Northern Kick, and the band.

She said: “Reece is so musically talented, he’s played the guitar and the drums from an early age, and he’s also won an award at school for the best GCSE result in drama.”
