A 62-year-old man who is accused of sexually abusing a young boy over an eight-year period has been released on bail by a judge.
David Acres is said to have carried out a series of serious sex acts on a boy who was under the age of 16.
No charges were formally out to Acres when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court and he did not enter any pleas.
Acres, of Deansway, Chippenham, is accused of indecent assault, indecency with a child under 16 and other sex offences between April 1984 and June 1992.
Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Friday, February 6, and released him on conditional bail until then.
