Devizes Television has been approached by French production and distribution company Studio Canal to make a new short film as a DVD extra for a re-release of the 1966 film Far From the Madding Crowd.

It will be a new version of the video Devizes Television made in 2013 about the locations used in the movie as much of it was filmed in Devizes. The new video will be filmed in the town over the next couple of weeks.

Producer Howard Maryon-Davis said: “We are trying to find as many people as possible who were involved to tell us their stories about the filming so we can include their memories in the new video. Several people have already come forward.”

Anyone with information can contact Devizes Television by calling Mr Maryon-Davis on 01380 725755 or approaching Bill Huntly at his stall in the Shambles Market from Thursday to Monday.

The re-release is out early next year.
