THERE are still tickets available for a charity ball in aid of Newfound Friends, a charity which trains Newfoundland dogs to take part in fundraising events for other charities.

The event on Saturday at the Swindon Supermarine Club in Stratton will start at 7pm for a 7.30pm.

As well as live entetainment from The Zoots the evening will feature a fish and chip supper, complete with dessert.

There will also be an auction of promises and a raffle, and all proceeds will go towards the charity.

Adam Bedford, a member of Newfound Friends who has helped to organise the event, said: “Newfound Friends do so much for other charities and we used to get the majority of our support from business sponsorship. But since the recession businesses have found it difficult to give as much and we desperately need the support of the wider public.

“The money raised will continue to help Newfound Friends do what they do with supporting other charities.

“Last year we tipped the £1m mark of what we had been able to give to other charities.”

Tickets cost £300 for a table of 10.
