A 'protective web' has been spun at Avebury, by pagans campaigning against fracking.
Members of the Warriors Call, who protest about all unconventional forms of gas or oil extraction and fracking, conducted a ritual which included singing, drumming and the symbolic weaving of a web of colourful ribbons.
People from across the country gathered at the ancient stone circle.
Member Tim Harris said: “As pagans, the threat to our land and water is of particular concern, as the natural world is sacred to us.”
Clive Humphries, of Keep Wiltshire Frack Free, who lives on a boat on the Kennet and Avon Canal, said: “Avebury is such a beautiful place and an important tourist destination.
"Should fracking take hold in Wiltshire, we fear it will affect tourism.”
