Caroline Lawrence visited Marlborough to talk to some children about her books. It was a great success and the children loved it. Her talk lasted an hour.

First of all she introduced herself and her books.

As well as that, Caroline told us how she lived, where she lived and how she worked. Her first book was The Thieves of Ostia.

Caroline was very entertaining and everybody liked her.

She told us the ways to make a character for your book.

She also told us the seven steps to write a story, which are: Step one – start off with a problem. Step two – how would the characters solve the problem? Step three – introduce an opponent. Step four – plan. Step five – battle. Step six – has the character gained knowledge? Step seven – the character’s new level.

The talk was full of comedy, information and it was very inspiring. We hope they will have more things like that.

At the end of the talk, Caroline gave us her email address so that we could email her if we liked and she signed books. It was so cool.
