Owls cows and sheep were the hit attractions on Saturday at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s third Country Comes to Town event in Devizes Market Square and the Corn Exchange.

The event, combined with the charity’s annual meeting, was a celebration of wild Wiltshire and a chance for hundreds of people to find out more about local wildlife.

As well as the charity’s precision grazing team of Dexter cows and Herdwick sheep there were also country crafts and stalls where people were able to find out about growing their own food and beekeeping.

Mike Gale, owner of M Gale Hawking Days, was also in attendance with a selection of owls and other birds of prey for people to learn more about.

Michele Gard, fundraising manager for Wiltshire Wildlife trust, said: “The day went really well and the feedback we have received has been very positive.

"We managed to raise over £3,000 for the trust which will be used for conservation work."

There was also a repair cafe in the Corn Exchange where volunteers and professionals were on hand to fix small electrical items.
