Schoolgirl Felicity Challinor has completed her second relay swim across the English Channel at just 15 years old.
A pupil at St Mary’s School, Calne, she has raised more than £1,350 for Diabetes UK, a disease her aunt and grandmother suffer from.
Variable sea conditions meant the entire swim was through choppy waters and Felicity had to put in two huge efforts as members of her team, from the Serpentine Swimming Club in Hyde Park, London, suffered from sea sickness.
She said: “It required all the stamina I could muster to ensure we made headway before the tide turned.”
“My last swim onto the French rocks was amazing.”
Felicity’s team completed the swim in 13 hours and five minutes. She is now targeting solo efforts across Lake Windermere or Lake Coniston.
